Methods of Dewatering:
Sump Pumping
Is the simplest form of groundwater control, where the underground water is collected in sump pits and pumped away.
Deepwell
It consists of array of bored wells each fitted with submersible pump. As water is pumped from each well to the collection tank, for where will be drawn to the public rain water drainage pipes.
Well Point System
Consists of a series of small diameter wells(known as WellPoint) connected via a header pipe, to the suction side of a suitable WellPoint pump.
Educators
This system uses air within the well to produce a vacuum to draw water out of low permeability soil.
Vacuum Wells
Is an adaptation of deepwell system. Each well in the system is pumped by submersible pumps and is applied to each well via a vacuum pump located to top surface.
Horizontal Wells
This technique uses a horizontal flexible perforated pipes which are installed by a special trenching machine.
